Online conversation club – speak Polish more freely and without stress
The Pol-Langua conversation club is 4 meetings a month on Google Meet, in a group of up to 6 people at a similar level, from A2 to C1. We talk about matters from life in Poland and from work, and the teacher leads the conversation so that everyone speaks as much as possible. After the meeting you get a note with the most important mistakes and new phrases. We will choose a group at your level after the trial lesson.
When the conversation club helps most
Conversation classes are for people who know the basics of grammar but freeze in real conversation or answer with a single word. It is a common situation: you understand what a colleague at work is saying, but before you put together an answer, the conversation is already about something else. The club does not replace a grammar course – it works best as an addition to one or as a way to maintain your level.
What you will learn
In conversation classes you learn to speak faster than you can translate a sentence in your head. You practise reactions that take one line in a textbook but in conversation decide whether you sound natural: asking follow-up questions, interrupting, changing the subject, joking.
| Topic | Level | Phrases from the conversation |
|---|---|---|
| The weekend and plans | A2 | Co robisz w weekend? Może pójdziemy razem? |
| At the doctor’s and the pharmacy | A2–B1 | Od trzech dni boli mnie gardło. Czy to jest na receptę? |
| Housing and neighbours | B1 | Przepraszam, czy mógłby pan trochę ściszyć muzykę? |
| Work and colleagues | B1–B2 | Nie zdążę do piątku, czy możemy przesunąć termin? |
| Polish customs and holidays | B1–B2 | U nas w domu Wigilia wygląda zupełnie inaczej. |
| News and opinions | B2–C1 | Nie do końca się z tym zgadzam, bo… To zależy, jak na to spojrzeć. |
We also work on three habits that most often block conversation:
- Answering with one word. To the question Jak minął weekend? “fine” ends the conversation, while Dobrze, byłem w górach, chociaż trochę padało opens it.
- Translating word for word from your own language. Instead of “to make a decision” we say podjąć decyzję, instead of “I am thirty years” – mam trzydzieści lat.
- Not asking the other person questions. A short A ty? or A jak u ciebie? keeps the conversation going longer and makes it natural.
What a meeting looks like
A meeting lasts 50 minutes and has three parts. For a warm-up, a short “how are you” round, then the main topic with material to start – a short text, a photo or a question for discussion – and finally a task in pairs, for example acting out a scene. The teacher does not interrupt every sentence, but notes the mistakes and discusses the most important ones at the end.
Example from a note after a meeting:
At the meeting someone said: “Ja myślę, że to jest bardzo dobra idea”. It sounds like a calque from English. More natural: Myślę, że to świetny pomysł. The word idea exists, but in everyday conversation we rather say pomysł. New phrases: Szczerze mówiąc…, No właśnie!, Coś w tym jest.
If your problem is mainly pronunciation – for example, Poles often ask you to repeat yourself – combine the club with the course on pronunciation and accent.

Book a trial lesson – afterwards we will propose a group. Do you prefer to speak only with the teacher? We also run conversation classes as individual lessons. If you are preparing for an exam, see what the B1 oral part requires.
Frequently asked questions
Does anyone correct mistakes in the conversation club?
Yes, but after the conversation, not during it. The teacher notes the mistakes and discusses the most important ones at the end of the meeting and in the note.
Can I join the club in the middle of a month?
Yes. The topics of successive meetings do not depend on each other, so you can start from any one.
Do we speak only Polish in the club?
Yes – the conversation is in Polish. If you do not understand something, the teacher will explain it briefly in English, Russian or Spanish.
