Polish B1 exam dates
The state exam in Polish as a foreign language is held in several sessions a year – B1 is offered in every one of them. The next session is 5–6 December 2026 (B1 for adults), and in 2027 the first session falls on 6–7 February. You register for the exam directly at the exam centre; the list of centres for each session is usually published about two months in advance. Not sure which session to choose? At a trial lesson we will check your level and suggest a realistic date.
Exam sessions in 2026
The dates are announced by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language. Not every level is offered in every session, so before you plan a date, make sure it includes your level.

When to register for the exam
There is no single central registration system. You apply directly to the exam centre of your choice, which sets the registration deadline, the fee and the data required. The list of centres for a given session usually appears about two months before the exam, and places at popular centres run out quickly.
- Registration for the session on 5–6 December 2026 is already open.
- Registration for the session on 6–7 February 2027 will open at around the beginning of December 2026.
- The exam fee is set by the centre within the statutory limit – check how much the exam costs and how to register.
How to plan your preparation for the chosen session
Many learners choose a session first and only then count how much time is left. It is better the other way round: first check your level, then choose a session. Someone who speaks fluently at A2 usually needs several months of regular study, and someone close to B1 needs a few weeks of revision for the written and oral parts.
- Check your level – take the placement test or book a trial lesson with a diagnosis.
- Choose a session with time to spare – so that you can devote the last 6–8 weeks before the exam to mock exams and improving your weaker part.
- Register at a centre as soon as the list of centres is published.
- Practise the full exam – at a mock exam, the teacher will assess your writing and speaking according to the board's criteria.
Remember: each of the five parts of the exam must be passed separately. A good reading score will not make up for a weak essay – so plan time for writing and speaking too. At a trial lesson we will show you which part needs the most work in your case.
